About Metal Underground
An independent journal about heavy metal, built on the domain of a Portuguese metal forum.
metalunderground.org started life as “o fórum do Underground Metálico português”, a phpBB board where Portuguese fans announced gigs, argued about records, traded CDs and promoted their bands. The board has been closed for years; its surviving threads are kept as a read-only archive, unchanged and in Portuguese.
What the journal covers
The journal keeps the same subject and widens it for an international audience: genres and history, live shows and festivals, gear and craft, records and merch, and the Portuguese scene the domain grew out of. Guides are written to stay useful: how a thing works, how to do it, where to check the details.
How it works
Facts are checked against official band, festival, label and manufacturer pages and standard references. Photographs come from open-licence collections and are credited to their authors. Sponsored and partner articles are published on the partner news page and marked as partner content.
